RUSSIAN VISAS - INFORMATION |
|
Application Form
The routine of processing Russian visas
is known as difficult but we are able to make it smooth. We
are a licensed tourist firm and can issue Russian visa
papers for group and individual applications. This gives us
a distinct advantage over all other groups.
1st stage - INFORMATION
We need to know from you the information to be filled
into application form.
Your expedition and dates of your trip in Russia (if you
want to spend several additional days, please inform us
beforehand, any extensions of Russian tourist visas
in-country are impossible; however you can order any
extended visa from us for your additional days from us,
please inquire).
2nd stage - APPLICATION
When you Russian visa papers are ready in Moscow we send
them to you or your group leader by email. You will receive
TWO papers - a voucher and a confirmation. Both are
important for your application. Print them off. Now add two
passport sized photographs of your own.
Find the nearest Russian Consulate to you. In UK this is
London, in Ireland it is Orwell Road in Dublin. You need to
get the application forms from the Consulate and fill them
in. Then deliver application form, photos, voucher and
confirmation and visa fee to the Consulate. After a week or
so you can collect your passport with the visa inside.
The visa fee. This is currently £30 for British citizens.
There are different rates for other nationalities. You will
need to inquire from the Consulate. The Consulate will not
accept personal cheques. You are best advised to send a
postal order or pay by cash.
Postal applications. You can expect your visa back in two
weeks time. It can be done in a shorter period, but the
costs are higher. Please check with the Consulate for the
costs. Post your documents off to the consulate and enclose
a self-addressed envelope with the appropriate return
postage. You are advised to use the Special Delivery Service,
which guarantees next day delivery and compensation if the
item gets lost. Recorded delivery is a much cheaper
alternative, but you should be warned that each year a few
passports have been seriously delayed or lost by the Royal
Mail and it is difficult to obtain compensation.
Application form information. Some questions need to be
answered on the form which we can help you with.

3rd Stage - Arriving in Russia
On the plane -
You will be given a migration card to fill out, with normal
personal details to be filled in for your arrival.
On Arrival at airport -
You will fly into Sheremetevo Airport and walk through the
building to the customs section. There will be a number of
queues for foreigners and it is a simple matter to hand over
your passport and migration card there for stamping.
In Country -
In Russian Law any foreigner must register their visa if he/she
stays more than 3 days in one place. We will take care about
this registration when you arrive but you MUST always be
with your group and keep your passport on you at all times.
This is important to remember since authorities can ask
anytime to see your visa. At each area visited, it will be
necessary to register your presence with the local
Department. We will do this for you.
